How is an urgent care practice different from my primary doctor’s office?
An urgent care practice can supplement the services your primary doctor can provide, from extended office hours and short wait times to a more comprehensive suite of services available on-site than in most primary doctor’s offices. While your primary doctor cares for multiple chronic medical issues, we treat the problems facing you today. This allows us to treat you expediently without the wait. Also, for the cases where your primary physician would have to send you to an ER for something non-life-threatening, urgent care can take out much of the waiting and expense.
Most primary care physicians do not have the ability to take x-rays, control nose bleeds (epistaxis), place sutures, or care for orthopedic injuries like our board certified emergency medicine physicians can.
