This month MD Today Urgent Care celebrated its third year in business. Since opening our doors in 2012, MD Today Urgent Care has been dedicated to providing fast, affordable, quality care to San Diego families and employers. Len Jurkowski, MD, family practitioner and medical director, commented on the anniversary and said that, “We have been incredibly lucky to be located in such a great community (Scripps Ranch) in San Diego. The patient population we see are just decent, hard working people. They make my job enjoyable and in return we provide them with the quality care they need.”
Retail urgent care clinics like MD Today Urgent Care provide patients an alternative to the emergency room and their busy primary care physicians office. On any day of the week, Patients are able to walk into family practices and be seen by an experienced provider in less than 30 minutes. This is a stark contrast to the average three hour (or more) wait at most emergency departments for non-life threatening emergencies. Furthermore, MD Today is able to provide services not found at your typical primary care physicians (PCP’s) office such as X-rays, Sutures, EKGs, and in-house labs.
Looking ahead, MD Today Urgent Care will be opening it’s second location in Carmel Valley, within the Piazza Carmel Shopping Center, in December of 2015. The second location will be an extension of the Scripps Ranch facility, which will allow patients to have continuity of care between both locations with the ability to share medical records, staff, and more. “We are really excited about bringing another MD Today to the Carmel Valley Community.
